A few years ago, dreamslide inventor Jean-Marc Gobillard, a boardsports enthusiast who was disappointed in the performance of rollerblades, decided to design a product that would combine the feel of boardsports with the performance of a good bicycle.

He envisaged a product that would be used in a standing position to achieve sensations similar to skiing, rollerblading, surfing, etc.—sports where you shift your weight and sway from side to side to change direction.
